MERIT RECOGNITION : REWARD FOR THE COMMITMENT OF WOMEN IN MARITIME AND PORTS.

During the gala dinner which took place  on 09 November 2023, marking the end of the 43 th Annual Council of the Port Management  Association of West and Central Africa ( PMAWCA), the members of the Network for Professional Women in the Maritime and Port Sectors of west and Central Africa  ( NWMPP-WCA) have been put in the spotlight.

As a matter of fact,the governing bodies of PMAWCA had made a point of honouring several of them including Mrs Florentine GUIHARD KOIDIO,the Coordinator General of the Women Network, rewarded for her actions in favour of promoting the maritime and port sectors.

Particularly moved by this recognition,Mrs GUIHARD KOIDIO dedicated her prize to all the women in the maritime and port sectors and also to the Managing Directors of the member ports of the association for their continued support to the initiatives of women in the different ports.

Let’s recall that NWMPP-WCA was established in January 2007. Its actions aim,among others, at building the capacity of its members, exchange of information, skills and experiences among its members, at creating a pool of  experts and trainers at the international level,  and ensuring a better representation  of women in the  decision making bodies of the maritime and port industry in Africa.
