THE MINISTER FOR EQUIPMENT AND ROAD MAINTENANCE VISITED THE PORT BOULEVARD REHABILITATION WORKSITE
Dr Amédé Koffi KOUAKOU, Minister of Public Works and Road Maintenance, expressed his satisfaction with the progress of work to rehabilitate the Boulevard du Port d'Abidjan. His comment was made following his visit to the roads worksite at the Abidjan Port on Thursday 03 October 2024, in the presence of the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ, ‘We are here in the port area, and you know how important the Abidjan Port is to the Ivorian economy. All the lorries that leave the port go to the interior of the country and to countries in the hinterland. This important road, which serves the port, was in a state of serious disrepair, and thanks to a grant from the American government, through the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC)/Millennium Challenge Account Côte d'Ivoire (MCA), it is now being rehabilitated’. He added that the work was progressing at an estimated overall rate of 50%. The completion is scheduled for April 2025.
The minister was accompanied for the occasion by the Director General of the Road Management Agency (AGEROUTE), Mr. Fabrice COULIBALY, and the Director General of the American Agency of the Millennium Challenge Account Côte d'Ivoire (MCA), Mrs. Marie-Viviane ADO GOSSAN.
It should be noted that the work, coordinated by the MCA, is part of the Abidjan Transport Project (ATP).
