A MISSION OF THE AUTHORITIES OF THE SENEGALESE MARITIME SECTOR IN BENCHMARKING AT ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY
Friday, October 25, 2024 A Senegalese delegation composed of the administrations of the maritime sector, is visiting in Côte d'Ivoire from October 21 to 25, 2024, as part of a benchmarking mission.
On Wednesday, October 24, 2024, this mission led by Ms. NDEYE Anna SOW MBOJ, Director of Operations at the National Agency for Maritime Affairs (ANAM) of Senegal, was received at Abidjan Port Authority (PAA) by the Harbour Master of Abidjan Port, Colonel COFFI Yao Emmanuel, representing the Managing Director of the PAA, Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ.
This visit to the Port Authority is part of a series of meetings with senior officials of the State Action at Sea administrations in Côte d'Ivoire, in order to draw inspiration from the Ivorian model to strengthen the Senegalese maritime surveillance and marine environmental protection system.
The guests of Managing Director of Abidjan Port Authority, benefited from a presentation of the port platform with a focus on the infrastructure modernization work carried out over the last decade, on the evolution of goods traffic which increased by 21.1% in 2023, as well as on the development of the Port Abidjan.
The two parties discussed at length on various themes including port operations, security, safety and actions undertaken in environmental matters.
Welcoming the interest shown by the delegation in Abidjan Port Authority, Colonel COFFI Yao Emmanuel encouraged this sharing of experience which strongly supports South-South cooperation.
Let us recall that the Senegalese delegation was introduced to the PAA by Colonel KOUADIO AKE José-Nicole, from the Permanent Secretariat of the Interministerial Committee for State Action at Sea (SEPCIM-AEM) of Côte d'Ivoire.
