NORWEGIAN DAWN CRUISE SHIP MAKES A STOPOVER AT ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY
On Friday, March 21, 2025, Abidjan Port Authority (PAA) welcomed its first cruise ship of the year 2025, the NORWEGIAN DAWN operated by NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE. With a capacity of over 4,000 passengers, the pleasure vessel arrived from São Tomé and Príncipe with 2,989 passengers on board, including crew members.
During the stopover, 800 boaters disembarked to visit the tourist sites of Plateau, Bingerville, Grand-Bassam, and the Banco Forest. It’s worth recalling that the NORWEGIAN DAWN, which had previously docked twice at Abidjan Port Authority in 2024—on March 29 and November 17—is 294.13 meters long, 32.20 meters wide, and has a draft of 8.5 meters.
Abidjan Port Authority is gradually confirming its capacity to become a reference port of call for cruise ships, not only due to its modern equipment and operational performance but also thanks to Côte d’Ivoire’s growing tourism appeal. In 2024, the port recorded a dozen cruise ship arrivals carrying more than 10,000 passengers.
After Abidjan, the NORWEGIAN DAWN set sail for Dakar.
