THE PAA ACCOMPANIES THE LAUNCH OF THE COMPOSITIONS FOR THE 17TH EDITION OF THE MISS MATHEMATICS 2023 COMPETITION

The launch of the compositions for the 17th edition of the Miss Mathématics contest took place on Saturday 27 May 2023 at Lycée Sainte-Marie in Cocody, under the patronage of Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ, Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA).

A total of 498 candidates are taking part in the Miss Mathématics competition in Abidjan and Yamoussoukro.

Two centers, Lycée Sainte Marie in Abidjan (320 candidates) and Lycée Mamie Adjoua in Yamoussoukro (178 candidates), are hosting the 17th edition of the competition. The contest is open to 4th year pupils (344 female candidates) and science final year (154 female candidates).

On the occasion of the launch, Hilaire ATINDEHOU, Chairman of the Miss Mathématics Commission, said that the competition was the most valuable way of getting young girls to come to terms with mathematics, and to love it more, in order to become renowned engineers, actuaries, researchers and economists who will contribute to the country's development.

He encouraged girls to take up scientific subjects, which require a little more sacrifice and concentration in their studies.

The awards will be presented to the winners in August 2023.
