PAA REWARDED FOR GROWTH IN CARGO TRAFFIC

On the sidelines of the 43rd Annual Council of the Port Management Association of West and Central Africa (PMAWCA), which ended on 09 November 2023, the 7th edition of the African Ports Awards was held, with the results announced during the gala dinner.

On this occasion, the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA) was awarded the prize for the best performance in import and export traffic (in volumes), for the year 2022.

Indeed, in 2022, the Abidjan Port recorded overall goods traffic of 28,669,102 tonnes, equivalent to an increase of 1.3% compared with 2021. Imports (73.1% of total traffic) amounted to 20,968,563 tonnes, while exports (26.9%) totalled 7,700,539 tonnes.

As a reminder, the PAA was also awarded the prize for the best performance in import and export traffic (in volumes) by the African Ports Awards Foundation in 2022.
