THE PERFORMANCE OF ABIDJAN PORT PRAISED BY THE CEO OF AFRICA GLOBAL LOGISTICS
During a working visit to Côte d'Ivoire, Mr. Philippe LABONNE, Chairman and CEO of Africa Global Logistics (AGL), was received on Friday, February 21, 2025, by the Managing Director of Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ.
During this meeting, Mr. LABONNE expressed his appreciation for the outstanding performance of the Port Authority, which has made the Port of Abidjan a key hub for maritime transport in Africa.
"The Port of Abidjan is now establishing itself as a strategic crossroads for African maritime trade. The surge in transshipment traffic demonstrates the relevance of the investments made and the dynamism of the port platform," he noted.
Thanks to modernization projects undertaken since 2012, including the second container terminal that became operational in December 2022, the Port of Abidjan handled over 40 million tons of cargo in 2024, with container traffic increasing from 840,926 TEUs in 2022 to 1,600,000 TEUs in 2024.
This visit also provided an opportunity to discuss AGL's activities at the Port of Abidjan and potential areas for improvement.
Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ, in his remarks, praised the excellent collaboration between the institution he leads and the AGL Group.
He also took the opportunity to inform his guest about the upcoming festivities marking the 75th anniversary of Abidjan Port, scheduled for April 2025.
