THE PORT AUTHORITY HOLDS TALKS WITH THE INTER-PROFESSIONAL GROUP FOR AUTOMOBILES, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS
On Thursday 03 October 2024, the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ, held talks with a delegation from the Interprofessional Group for Automobiles, Materials and Equipment Manufacturers (GIPAME) led by Mr. Arthur Dallys MOLOKO, Director of Operations at CFAO MOTORS as part of the consultations on the revision of port charges for certain goods, including vehicles (cars, vans and lorries).
A number of car dealers, including ATC Comafrique, Prestige Auto, SOCIDA and CFAO Motors, took part in the meeting that aimed to present to the Port Authority the proposals of GIPAME regarding that tariff revision.
In his speech, the Managing Director of the PAA reminded his hosts, the main customers of the Abidjan Port's Ro-Ro Terminal, of the major works carried out to provide them with modern infrastructures comprising high-performance equipment to meet the ever-growing demands of the maritime sector. Those major projects aimed to make the Abidjan Port more competitive, and raise it to the rank of the most efficient ports in Africa. He indicated that a joint reflection committee would be set up to study new proposals.
The two parties undertook to continue discussions with a view to finding solutions, within a short period of time, that would not only foster the development of the Abidjan Port, but above all enhance the well-being of the local population.
