PROPOSALS BY SEA INVEST GROUP TO RELIEVE CONGESTION IN THE RORO TERMINAL.
On Friday 1st October, 2021, Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ Managing Director of Abidjan Port accompanied by several members of the Executing Committee held discussions with a delegation of Sea-Invest Group led by its Chairman, Mr. Philippe VAN DE VYVERE.
During the meeting which dealt with the improvement in the operation of the Mineral Terminal, Sea-Invest’s engineers through a projection, made proposals for an immediate upgrading of the existing infrastructure in order to relieve congestion in the Mineral Terminal of Abidjan. The major components of the projects are: the extension of the existing storage yard for mineral ores, the purchase of a third dust collector to lessen the air pollution impact, and the large transportation of mineral ores.
The experts also made other proposals on the long term about the construction of a new Mineral Terminal on the West offshore bar on Ile Boulay, which will help to relieve congestion in Abidjan City by reducing the traffic of mineral trucks in the Port area.
The officials of Abidjan Port Authority expressed their interest in these projects and engaged discussions with the representatives of Sea-Invest in order to come up with appropriate and suitable solutions for the effective implementation of the said projects.
