Reinforcement of Military Cooperation Between Côte D’ivoire and Ghana : VISIT OF ABIDJAN PORT BY GHANAIAN OFFICERS
Since 29 april 2023,a delegation of twenty three (23) military executives,high officers and trainee officers of the 44 th class of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College ( GAFCSC) has undertaken a study trip in Cote d’Ivoire.
On the initiative of the Ministry of State , Ministry of Defense, represented by Lieutenant Colonel YEBOUA KOUAKOU Florent,and the Authority of Strategic Affairs of the said ministry,the delegation was received at Abidjan Port Authority (PAA) .on Friday 05 may 2023 by Colonel
Coffie Yao Emmanuel, Harbour Master of Abidjan Port ,representing Mr Hienacouba SIE ,Managing Director of PAA.
During the discussions,colonel Emmanuel TETE DOKE , leader of the Ghanaian delegation indicated the reason for their presence at Abidjan Port. they came to the port not only to make inquiries about the provisions implemented by Abidjan Port to respond to threats, but also to get acquainted about measures taken regarding logistics within the framework of Accra Initiative.
Following the reply by the Harbour Master of Abidjan Port, the Ghanaian military officers went for a tour of the port facilities ,namely the dedicated terminals ( Grain,Fishing Roro,Second Container Terminal ;in order to better discover Abidjan Port ,a major pillar of the Ivorian economy.
As a reminder ,the Accra Initiative which was launched in 2017 aims at intensifying the regional efforts to address the different security threats in the west African sub-region.
