RICE MARKETING: VIETNAMESE BUSINESSMEN PROSPECTING AT THE ABIDJAN PORT

A delegation of Vietnamese businessmen led by Mr. TRAN QUOC TOAN, Deputy Director General of the Foreign Trade Agency of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, is on a prospecting mission in Côte d'Ivoire from 10 to 13 October. The delegation visited the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA) on Wednesday 12 October 2022, where it was received by Colonel COFFI Yao Emmanuel, Director of Maritime Operations, Safety and Environment (DOMSE), representing the Managing Director of the PAA, Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ.

On the menu of the exchanges was the marketing of rice in our country. The head of the Vietnamese delegation said that in view of the strategic position of the Abidjan Port in the logistics chain of the rice industry and as a key player in the process of importing rice into Côte d'Ivoire, it was wise for them to come and contact the Port Authority not only to learn about the conditions and procedures for importing this important foodstuff, but also to establish partnerships with Ivorian public and private structures involved in this sector.

The Commander of the Abidjan Port, Colonel COFFI Yao Emmanuel, welcomed this step and expressed his satisfaction with the interest of Vietnam for the Abidjan Port, leader on the West African coast. He therefore indicated that the Port Authority remains open to all proposals that could lead to a future mutually beneficial cooperation between Vietnamese companies and the Abidjan Port.

This meeting was sanctioned by a guided tour that allowed Vietnamese businessmen to discover the enormous potential of the Abidjan Port.
