The Abidjan Port Authority hosted, on April 20, 2026, the first Steering Committee (COPIL) meeting of the SCOPE Africa project (Securing Corridors, Ports and Exchanges in Western and Central Africa).
The session was co-chaired by Colonel José-Nicole KOUADIO AKA, representing the Permanent Secretariat of the Interministerial Committee for State Action at Sea (SEPCIM-AEM), and by H.E. Irchad RAZAALY, Ambassador of the European Union to Côte d’Ivoire.
The meeting was attended by officials of the Abidjan Port Authority, including Colonel COFFI Yao Emmanuel, Director of Maritime Operations, Security and Environment (DOMSE), and Mr. KOUADIO Jules, Director of Economic Studies, Strategy and Planning (DEESP). Also present were technical and financial partners, including the SCOPE Africa project delegation led by Mr. Nico VERTONGEN, and representatives of ENABEL headed by Mr. Tom DEDEURWAERDER.
Funded by the European Union and jointly implemented by Expertise France and ENABEL, the SCOPE Africa project aims to strengthen the security, fluidity, and efficiency of port corridors in West and Central Africa through improved stakeholder coordination, operational capacity-building, and the optimization of trade flows.
This first Steering Committee meeting provided an opportunity to review the progress of activities and lay the foundations for coordinated governance among the various stakeholders.
It reaffirms the commitment of the Abidjan Port Authority to promoting a secure and high-performing port platform, fully integrated into regional and international logistics dynamics.
