STRENGTHENING MARITIME COOPERATION: THE ABIDJAN PORT WELCOMES A DELEGATION FROM THE NIGERIAN NAVAL WAR COLLEGE

On Friday, May 30, 2025, the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA) had the honour of receiving a delegation from the 9th cohort of the Nigerian Naval War College, currently on a study mission in Côte d’Ivoire.

Led by Commodore U. Aneke, the delegation—composed of 30 officers-came to learn more about the maritime security measures implemented by the port, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen regional cooperation in ocean governance.

The delegation was welcomed on behalf of the Managing Director of the PAA by Dr. Titi PALÉ, Director of Commercial Affairs, Marketing, and Communications, along with Lieutenant-Colonel LATH, representing the Port Harbour Master.

The agenda included insightful discussions on the strategies deployed to ensure the security of port facilities, an overview of the port’s modern infrastructure, and a focus on threat prevention and maritime response mechanisms.

The visitors commended the warm welcome, the quality of exchanges, and the strategic vision of the Abidjan Port in terms of security governance.

The visit concluded with a symbolic exchange of gifts, celebrating the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria.
