SUSPENSION OF THE PAA'S DECISION ON REVISING SOME PORT FEES

On Wednesday 18 September 2024, Abidjan Port Authority hosted a meeting between Mr Hien Yacouba SIÉ, Managing Director of Abidjan Port Authority (PAA) and a delegation of the Union of the Transit and Importers of Second-Hand Vehicles of Cote D'Ivoire (SNGTIVO) led by its secretary General Mr N'GUESSAN Kouassi Narcisse.

The meeting which was held at the request of the union, was aimed at discussing with the Port Authority about the new rates in force at Abidjan Port, in accordance with the Note to users N° 278 DEESP/DAEESP/DSP/SCP/KKA dated 05 September 2024.

On that occasion, the different members of the delegation who intervened, advocated for the taking into account of the difficulties of their corporation, so as to get changes to the new fee structure, particularly as regards vehicles.

After having listened carefully to them, the Managing Director of PAA, sensitive to the concerns expressed by all the economic operators, and to the well-being of the Ivorian population, decided to postpone the enforcement of the above decision to a later date. A note shall be made to that effect.

The delegation of SNGTIVO returned satisfied with this meeting for having been able to get a thoughtful consideration from Mr Yacouba SIÉ, a Manager attentive to their concerns
