TRAINEE OFFICERS OF THE NATIONAL GENDARMERIE VISITING ABIDJAN PORT

Trainee officers of the National Gendarmerie originating from West and Central African countries and their supervisors visited Abidjan Port on Tuesday 14 August 2024.

They were about thirteen trainee officers from Côte d'Ivoire, Congo- Brazzaville Gabon, Cameroon, Senegal and Guinea Conakry who attended the 7th Gendarmerie Staff Course (7th CEMG) to get acquainted with the realities of the Abidjan Port's industry.

The delegation led by Colonel KOUAKOU Koffi Serge, Director of the 7th CEMG was received at the Headquarters of Abidjan Port Authority

by Colonel COFFI yao Emmanuel, Harbour Master and also Director of Maritime Operations, Security and Environment (DOMSE) representing Mr Hien Yacouba SIÉ, Managing Director of Abidjan Port Authority, who was accompanied by Lieutenant Colonel Coulibaly Gon Lacina, Commander of the Port Security Group of the National Gendarmerie.

Prior to the touring of the Port platform, the Harbour Master of Abidjan informed the visitors about the organization of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), its missions and the works undertaken by the Port Authority by putting an emphasis on port safety and security, the major concern of delegation of the National Gendarmerie.

 Moreover, the representative of the Managing Director also welcomed the National Gendarmerie's initiative and expressed the willingness of PAA to support cooperation actions aimed at reinforcing national security.
