A VISIT OF A DELEGATION FROM THE NETHERLANDS AT ABIDJAN PORT

A large delegation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands made up of several ministers and private companies has visited Côte d'Ivoire on 09 September 2024 as part of an assessment mission of cooperation between the two Countries.

On the occasion of its presence on the Ivorian soil, the delegation was received at Abidjan Port Authority (PAA) on Thursday 12 September 2024 by the Harbour Master of Abidjan Port, Colonel COFFI Yao Emmanuel, representing Mr Hien Yacouba SIÉ, Managing Director of PAA.

The visit of the Dutch delegation was aimed at exchanging views on the evolution of Abidjan Port so as to indentify the opportunities which could inject new dynamism into economic relationships between Côte d'Ivoire and the Netherlands.

For the occasion, the guests of the day have been treated to a presentation of the Port platform with an emphasis on the infrastructure modernization works carried out over the last decade and also on the evolution of cargo traffic which growth of 21.1% in 2023 is the combined results of the impact of these works and the dynamism of the Ivorian economy.

At the end of the exchanges, the delegation which was led by Mr Matthijs VAN EEUWEN, Deputy Head of mission at the Embassy of the Netherlands in Côte d'Ivoire went for a touring of the Port facilities.
