THE ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY COMMEMORATES THE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S RIGHTS DAY
It is in a warm and festive atmosphere that the women of the Abidjan Port Authority met this Wednesday 8 March 2023, to commemorate the International Women's Rights Day, in the presence of the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ.
"In a World in Full Digitalization: Challenges and Prospects for Women and Girls" was the theme developed by the two speakers, namely Mr. ZAMBLÉ Irié Bi Fréjus, Parenting Coach, and Dr. Titi PALÉ, Commercial, Marketing and Communication Director of the PAA.
In his speech, paying homage to women, the Managing Director of the PAA, indicated that it is through the eyes of women that men identify and project themselves. Based on the number of staff at the PAA, he said that women represent one third of the staff. This figure, Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ assured, could evolve with "competent, well-trained, hard-working women, women fully invested in the future of the Abidjan Port Authority, an enterprise which is a strong symbol for the State of Côte d'Ivoire." Then, after congratulating all the women for their significant contribution to the achievement of the company's objectives, the Managing Director urged them to perform better. "A country like ours, which is booming, cannot get better without a performing port," he said.
In conclusion, Mr. Hien Sie congratulated the President of the Women's Association of the Abidjan Port Authority, Mrs. OUATTARA Sarah Danielle, for all the strong actions carried out at the head of this association and which have enabled it to be revitalized.
During her speech, Mrs. MÉITÉ Salimata FOFANA, Director of Human Resources of the PAA, thanked the Managing Director for the opportunity he gives each year to the women of the company he manages to commemorate this important day in a very beautiful way.
"I would like to commit us more to a strong solidarity around the objectives of the company, because it is only at this price that we will succeed in capitalizing on our efforts and determination to make the Abidjan Port ever more competitive," she advised before expressing her satisfaction at the great mobilization of the women of the company, this day.
Speaking in turn, Mrs. OUATTARA Sarah Danielle, referring to the theme of digitalization, invited the women of the PAA not to remain on the sidelines of the major technological changes taking place in the world. "We must work on our skills, our abilities, our gifts, our talents because when you underestimate what you do, the world underestimates what you are," she said, quoting the American host, actress and publisher Oprah WINFREY.
This commemoration of the International Women's Rights Day at the PAA ended with a lunch at the Seamen's Club at Treichville, in Abidjan.
