A CONSORTIUM OF EUROPEAN OPERATORS EXCHANGED WITH THE ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY
A Consortium of European operators led by Mr Nico VERTONGEN, a Belgian Port expert paid a working visit to the Headquarters of Abidjan Port Authority (PAA) on Wednesday 20 March 2024. On that occasion, the Belgian businessmen were welcomed by Mr Jules KOUADIO, Director of Economic Studies, Strategy and Planning representing Mr Hien Yacouba SIE, the PAA's Managing Directors.
On this Wednesday 20 March, a working session was held on the Company's premises and focused on strategic corridors in Subsaharian Africa.
The meeting on the strategic Sub-Saharian African provided the opportunity to make a presentation of the project steered by the European Union, but also to highlight the expectations and prospects of PAA as part of the management of the said project.
All this, in order to come up with the working out of proposals regarding the management of strategic corridors, and precisely, the Abidjan-Ouagadougou corridor, the development of infrastructure, as well as the environmental component related to the development of the corridor.
Moreover, it has been revealed that the study would finally be converted into a project in order to increase PAA's competitiveness and in turn, that of the national and regional economies.
Let's note that the consortium consists of experts from the Belgian Development Agency (ENABEL), the Port of Antwerp and Expertise France in Côte d'Ivoire.
