CHAIRMAN OF THE MALIAN SHIPPER’S COUNCIL RECEIVED BY THE PAA MANAGING DIRECTOR
During his stay in Côte d’Ivoire, the Chairman of the Malian Shipper’s Council (CMC), Mr. Bakissima SYLLA, was received by the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), Mr. Kassoum TRAORE, on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the institution’s headquarters.
The meeting was part of efforts to strengthen economic cooperation between Côte d’Ivoire and Mali. Discussions focused on the activities of Malian shippers at Abidjan Port, as well as measures implemented by the Port Authority to facilitate the transit of goods bound for Mali.
On this occasion, Mr. Bakissima SYLLA expressed his deep gratitude to the President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, H.E. Mr. Alassane OUATTARA, for the efforts made to support Mali’s supply, despite the regional context. He also commended the initiatives undertaken by the PAA’s Management to improve the flow of transit operations for the benefit of Malian economic operators.
Speaking in turn, the Managing Director of PAA recalled that the institution maintains ongoing dialogue with Malian authorities and economic stakeholders in order to improve the conditions for the transit of goods. He reaffirmed PAA’s commitment to implementing measures aimed at enhancing the smooth flow of port operations, in keeping with the historical, economic and fraternal ties between the two countries.
Welcoming this progress, the Chairman of CMC noted that these measures would further secure Mali’s supply channels and improve the performance of the logistics chain. He renewed his thanks to the President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire and to the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority for their continued commitment to Ivorian-Malian cooperation.
The meeting concluded with the symbolic presentation of the circular note outlining the measures adopted by the Port Authority to facilitate the transit of Malian goods. This gesture demontrates the shared commitment of PAA and CMC to strengthening their partnership and promoting increasingly smooth trade flows between Côte d’Ivoire and Mali, in support of subregional integration.
