CÔTE D’IVOIRE TERMINAL INTRODUCES ITS NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR TO THE ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY
On Thursday, August 6, 2026, the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), Mr. Kassoum TRAORÉ, received a delegation from Côte d’Ivoire Terminal led by its Managing Director, Mr. Koen DE BACKKER, during a courtesy visit marking his departure after eight years at the helm of the company and the introduction of his successor, Mr. Mohamed DIAO, formerly Deputy Managing Director of Africa Global Logistics (AGL) Côte d’Ivoire.
On this occasion, Mr. Koen DE BACKKER expressed his gratitude to the Abidjan Port Authority for the quality of the cooperation maintained over the past eight years. He praised the excellent relationship established with the Port Authority before reviewing Côte d’Ivoire Terminal’s main achievements, providing an update on its logistics activities and outlining key matters of shared interest that will continue to be pursued. In the coming days, Mr. Koen DE BACKKER will move to Nigeria to take up new responsibilities.
Speaking in turn, Mr. Mohamed DIAO reaffirmed his determination to build on the excellent relationship between Côte d’Ivoire Terminal and the Abidjan Port Authority. He expressed his commitment to working alongside the port authority to strengthen logistics performance, improve the smooth flow of port operations and develop trade with hinterland countries.
In response, the Managing Director of PAA, Mr. Kassoum TRAORÉ, welcomed the strong partnership developed with Mr. Koen DE BACKKER over the years, characterized by trust, dialogue and mutual commitment to the competitiveness of the port platform. He wished him every success in his new position and welcomed Mr. Mohamed DIAO, assuring him of the Abidjan Port Authority’s readiness to maintain and further strengthen this strategic cooperation in support of Abidjan Port’s regional standing.
