The Minister of Transports and Telecommunications of Guinea Bissau at the Abidjan Port

Invited in Côte d’Ivoire by his Ivorian counterpart, Mr. Amadou KONE as part of the official opening of an assembly plant of minibuses in Abidjan, Mr. Augusto GOMES, Minister of Transports and Telecommunication of Guinea Bissau, visited the Port of Abidjan on 12 January 2021.

In view of strengthening the cooperation between the Abidjan Port and the ports of Guinea Bissau, Mr. Gomes addressed an invitation to the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority to visit Guinea Bissau.

Mr. Hien Yacouba SIE felt honored by this request and said that the company he managed was available to offer its expertise for the benefit of the ports of Guinea Bissau so as to support their development strategies. He mainly hailed the will of a south-south cooperation.

“Like the State of Côte d’Ivoire through the Minister of Transports, PAA is also available to support you.” Mr. Hien SIE thus pointed out.

The Managing Director of PAA took advantage of the talks to disclose the traffic realized by the Abidjan Port in 2021, which arose over 28 million tons of goods despite the persistence of the sanitary crisis.

A visit of the port facilities and its development projects marked the end of the meeting.

Worth mentioning that it is the second visit of Mr. Augusto GOMES at the Abidjan Port within six months.
